The Health Movement has been operating now since 2015. Having worked in the industry for numerous years now and gone on to build their own personal client base, Gerard and Caoimhe are passionate and personal in their approach to reaching peoples goals. Their own personal satisfaction comes from improving peoples quality of life, whether thats gaining back your independence, dealing with those everyday aches and pains or taking your fitness goals to the next level.

Gerard Minihane, MSc, BSc, MSST

Gerard has an abundance of clinical experience working in physiotherapy and healthcare clinics in London and has become increasingly familiar with popular injuries such as neck pain, lower back pain, knee pain and shoulder pain. Gerard likes to incorporate a variety of techniques into his sessions including manual therapies, spinal therapies, exercise rehabilitation, sports massage, deep postural massage as well as medical acupuncture. He also incorporates kinesiology taping where necessary to assist in movement encouraging blood flow and essentially a speedy recovery.

As an extremely competitive athlete himself, Gerard likes to work with sportspeople of all levels and has been a part of the Queens Park Rangers Academy medical team since 2016. He also continues his relationship with the North London Shamrocks GAA team. His own particular sport is Gaelic football where he plays for London GAA competing in the All Ireland Championship.

Caoimhe Gallagher

Caoimhe Gallagher, BSc, MCSP, HCPC

Caoimhe qualified at St George’s University of London in 2014 and worked there for four years following that, having specialised in Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy. She now works at the Whittington Hospital, dealing with Musculoskeletal conditions in Paediatrics such as Osgood Schlatter’s Disease and pain resulting from joint hypermobility. Caoimhe also treats babies with Torticollis and Plagiocephaly and young children with gait issues.

Caoimhe has experience in treating chronic pain and general musculoskeletal injuries. She has a particular interest in post-operative issues, having run the post-operative total hip and knee and ACL reconstructive surgery clinics and classes at St George’s Hospital.

Caoimhe has also worked in ante-natal and post-natal musculoskeletal care at St George’s and so has experience treating these issues individually and in group settings.

Caoimhe also completed three seasons at Wimbledon Rugby Club where she worked with the men’s, women’s and youth teams dealing with both acute injuries and longer term rehabilitation.

Emma O'Lone, BSc, MCSP, HCPC

Specialising in:

Emma graduated from Coventry University in 2019 with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. Prior to this she obtained a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy in I.T. Carlow, Ireland. Emma has 5 years experience working as a physiotherapist in the NHS. She also has over 8 years working pitchside with a range of amateur and elite sports teams and teaching Pilates.

 

Emma has always had an interest in sport, health and fitness which is what led her to choose a career in physiotherapy. Emma specialises in paediatric physiotherapy within the NHS, treating children from 0-17 years with a range of developmental, orthopaedic, MSK and neurological conditions. As well as this, she continues to work with adult sports teams, with her experience ranging from professional baseball to Gaelic Football.

 

Emma's enthusiastic and caring nature allows her to expertly guide and motivate her patients through their rehab and recovery, adults and children a like.

 

Outside of work Emma continues to be a big advocate of health and wellness and (when she's not doing her own rehab) she enjoys running, going to the gym and travelling.

Joe O'Reilly

Joe O’Reilly has 21 years’ experience working for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club including 18 years and 889 competitive matches as First Team Head of Sports Therapy, touring 43 countries over 5 continents. He also worked with T.H.F.C. Academy Under 9-15, Spurs Ladies and the club’s community coaching department. Previously, he spent 2 years as Sports Therapist/ Fitness Gallery Manager at the Savoy Hotel, London and 10 years with L.B. Camden Sports Centres.

 

Since 1995 Joe has developed an extensive client-centred skill set delivering deep tissue sports massage to people from all walks of life. He has helped many, including elite athletes and office staff with muscular issues caused by excessive use of technology affecting the neck, back and shoulders. Sessions include a short personal assessment before treatment and clients may choose to wear a thin layer of clothing or have hands on skin with a minimal application of oil or cream.

Joe is a fully insured member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
